Hot Toddy

I have the sniffles and a scratchy throat.

I know it is the time of year for it, but it is still a bit uncomfortable. I am not that sick and dont feel like I need to go to the doctors just yet. I like to wait a week or two if possible to make sure it dosnt go away on its own. As you know a doctors office can be a bit expensive and I would feel real silly if they said it was just a cold, so I wait.

In the meantime, I like to make this concoction to make me feel better. There is no scientific evidence that it works, it just makes me feel a bit better. Maybe because it soothes my throat and opens my nasal passages.

Hot Toddy

1 tablespoon honey

1 oz whisky (jameson)

1 lemon wedge

1 cup hot water

1 teabag (lipton)

Coat the bottom of your coffee cup with honey.

Add the whisky and lemon juice from the lemon wedge

In a separate pot combine the water and the tea and allow to steep for 5 minutes.

Add the tea mixture to the honey mixture. Enjoy hot!

Peace be with you,
