Baked Ziti
It looks like we made it through the Thanksgiving season unscathed, well sort of. Now it is a marathon race to get the Christmas shopping done, the gifts wrapped and decorations put up. Well, if you are Martha Stewart and have a plethora of assistants to help you, this is fine and dandy. For the rest of us who don’t, we try to be like Martha and completely stress ourselves over trying to do it all. Stand back, take a couple of deep breaths and think about what the Christmas season is all about. Jesus. Its not about the big tree decorated perfectly, or the cookies that are iced to perfection. In fact, a little imperfection is alright in my book. At this time of year, for once, wouldn’t it be nice not to have the monumental task of making something elaborate for dinner? Especially after all that needs to be done. Who has the time? So, while you are finishing the last minute wrapping, pop this easy baked ziti in the oven, open a bagged salad, pour yourself a glass of wine and relax. Christmas is almost here.
Ingredients:
1 box of Penne Pasta
1 can of Marinara Sauce or
1 lb Hamburger Meat
1 package Italian Cheese Blend
Directions:
Brown the hamburger meat in the skillet. Cook for 10-15 minutes or until no longer pink
Add your marinara/vodka sauce and allow to heat for 5-10 minutes
Cook your Penne according to the package instructions.
Mix the two in a greased 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle the top with cheese and put in 350 degree oven.
This is what it looks like when the cheese is melted and it is bubbly hot. It should be cooked for about 30 minutes.
Kick back, relax and enjoy!
